Me and my family

Welcome to my very first blog :) I've been meaning to start one for a while. Well a couple of years actually, but time just seems to fly by.

My name is Gemma. I am a 26 year old wife to Darren and a mum to Jacob (6), Rebekah (5), Samuel (4) and Emilie (8 months). I am currently serving as a counselor in the Primary organisation for my church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) and have 15 months left of my Bachelor's degree, after which I will be a qualified midwife!! Woohoo!! I LOVE music, crafts and ZUMBA. I have wonderful friends and an amazing family, whom I will introduce to you now.

Darren

Darren is 32 years old (I think thats right?) and is my best friend. We met when I was 16 years old and were married a few months after I turned 18. He is the 4th child out of 5, but unfortunately his younger brother was still born. He loves watching football, playing football, listening to football and playing football manager on the computer, oooh yes! He loves his sport which includes fishing. For the first 6 years of our married life, I thought he was fibbing when he would gloat about how great a fisherman he was, however over the past few years, he has redeemed himself. He grew up in Cumbernauld, Scotland and was raised a member of our church. At the age of 19, he lived in London and dedicated 2 years to teaching people the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When he returned home, he went to college and university and obtained a Bachelors degree in Social Work. Darrens greatest attributes are his selflessness and his ability to remain calm and in control when what seems like the world is falling apart around us. He is a great dad and the children think he is hilarious (but not as funny as Uncle Scott!!)

Jacob

Jacob is our firstborn. He is a very gentle, blond hair, blue eyed boy. He loves his family very much. He has a very sensitive soul and has great faith. He is a good example to us and reminds us of the things we should be doing. He looks forward to Family Home Evening (FHE) each week, almost as much as he looks forward to playing the Xbox after school. At the moment, Jacob would like to be a policeman when he is an adult.

Rebekah

Rebekah is 5 years old and has beautiful long blond hair and stunning blue eyes. She is such a caring girl, always looking out for others. She is also a bit of a bossy boots too (a bit like her mummy actually) and was born with mental hormones!! I am sure she has been here before! She is very creative and loves drawing. She is also a very spiritual little girl and loves coming to Primary at church. She loves playing with Barbies and watching Barbie movies :)

Samuel

Samuel is a bit of a ladies man. No matter where he goes, he seems to attract the girls. I think it is his kind and sharing nature. Give Sam some sweets and he automatically shares them out without being asked. He is more of a rough n tumble kind of boy, who loves his vehicles and pretending to fly. He is very strong willed and is not easy to win over, however he knows what is good for him and will do what he thinks is best. He enjoys playing football with daddy and saying prayers.

Emilie

Well little miss Emilie is just 8 months old, but her personality cannot be missed. She is a smiley, happy girl. She also knows what she wants already and lets you know when she isnt happy about something. At the moment, she loves to chew everything in sight and babble to everything and anything. She is such a joy and I feel very blessed to have her in our family.
